Paintings and ceramics are chosen to evoke strong emotional responses and invite the viewer to contemplate their beauty and power.
Deep, richly layered new oil paintings by Kathryn Stevens, Gina Brown, Beryl Robinson, Allan Martin and Barbara Norquoy sit alongside ceramics by gallery regulars Louisa Taylor, Sara Moorhouse and Janice Tchalenko and we are thrilled to introduce Justine Allison to the gallery for this show. Seasonal cards and prints by Sarah Targett add humour to the show.
Recent graduate Emma Buckley provides innovation with her dye line vases whilst April George is concerned with the process of deconstruction and reconstruction yet remains in the Still Life tradition. Yet more challenging are Chris Anthem's oil paintings on retail bags which raise pertinent questions about globalisation and consumerism.
